The Secondary Green School Committee (GSC) is Global Jaya’s student-led environmental organization dedicated to sustainability, conservation, and community impact. Through hands-on projects and advocacy, we strive to create lasting change within our school and beyond.
What We Do:
✔ Sustainable waste management – Implementing plastic-free policies and improving recycling systems within our school and the canteen
✔ EcoKom: Composting & Biopore programs – Reducing organic waste while educating local schools on sustainable waste management
✔ Eco-awareness campaigns & workshops – Engaging students through events, discussions, and hands-on activities
✔ Environmental accreditation – Advancing Global Jaya’s sustainability recognition at provincial and national levels
✔ Community initiatives – Recently, we hosted an auction to fund improvements for a local soccer field, and we regularly organize clean-ups to maintain green spaces
✔ Annual field trips – Last year, we explored Pulau Seribu, where we snorkeled, planted mangroves and corals, and studied sustainable, solar-powered island conservation efforts
✔ Fundraisers for environmental NGOs – Every event supports a cause! Most recently, our World Wildlife Day plushie sale helped fund animal conservation efforts in Indonesia
